Arsenal strike Lemar deal with Monaco

Arsenal has struck a deal with AS Monaco for France international winger Thomas Lemar, I can reveal.

Lemar to Arsenal is a done deal. As I’ve already written on Tribalfootball.com, the Gunners have been pursuing their main target for much of this transfer window, with Lemar a name demanded by manager Arsene Wenger himself.

The price agreed for the French winger, born in Guadeloupe in 1995, is around £48 million plus some bonuses to be added. It’s close to the price asked at the beginning of the negotiations by Monaco – £53 million as we’ve already reported.

An official announcement is expected when Arsenal return from their tour of Australia and China: Monaco have asked Arsenal to wait – with medicals, official pictures and his presentation to be delayed until they find a replacement for the French youngster.

And Bale could be sacrificed to help fund an eye-watering raid.

It’s suggested Manchester United and Paris St-Germain have made enquires in the past.

The duo are cash rich and might be tempted to try their luck again if Real decide to sell.

Bale is no longer a guaranteed starter at the Bernabeu.

Milan keen on Modric

AC Milan are interested in signing Luka Modric, but could face a fight to persuade the Real Madrid midfielder to move to the San Siro.

However, Barca are refusing to give up on their pursuit of Paulinho and hope an improved offer will persuade Guangzhou to change their mind about selling the former Tottenham man.

Liverpool winger Ryan Kent is a loan target for Championship side Hull City.

Kent spent last season on loan at Barnsley, and has also been linked with a move to Birmingham City as he looks to gain further first-team experience.
