Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) has commissioned projects at Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, the Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic, Uwana, Ebonyi State and the Yaba College of Technology, Lagos State.
The Rector of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, Alhaji Mas’ud Elelu and his compatriots; Dr. Ogbonnia Ibe-Enwo and Dr. (Mrs.) Kudirat Ladipo took turns to pour accolades on the positive and developmental impact of the TETFund intervention.
The three polytechnic managers, who spoke during the commissioning of various projects in their respective institutions, were unanimous in submitting that without the intervention from TETFund, the story of all public tertiary institutions in the country will be nothing to write home about.
Accolades from the three institutions managers were similar as they praised the leadership of TETFund and the wisdom of the Federal Government in establishing the intervention agency. According to the Rector of the Yaba College of Technology, Dr. Margaret Kudirat Ladipo, “The story of educational development in Nigeria will not be complete without mentioning the immense contributions of TETFund. It is an obvious fact that TETFund is pivotal to the development of education in Nigeria.
At the Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic, Uwana, the Executive Secretary, Dr. Bichi Baffa commissioned the 3,000 capacity Prof. Francis Otunta Lecture Theatre, John Oyegun Wet Processing Laboratory for the Food Science Technology School, the Mallam Adamu Adamu School of Environmental Design Technology Complex and a workshop for Animal Production Department as well as other projects.
In the same vein, Baffa commissioned the Central Research Laboratory, The Technology and Science Building at the Yaba College of Technology. The TETFund scribe also took a tour of other facilities.
At the Kwara state Polytechnic, Ilorin which was the last point of call of the TETFund boss, he commissioned the Prof Shehu Jimoh Library, which comprised both books and e-library facilities.
The academic staff office complex, auditorium, mini-Olympic stadium with indoor games facilities and the Centre for Research and Information Technology, were also commissioned.
