Gov Abdulrazaq nominates 4 for Civil Service Commission

 

Gov Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq of Kwara on Tuesday forwarded a list of
four names to the State House of Assembly for screening and
confirmation as chairman and members of the Kwara State Civil Service
Commission.
The Governor’s request was contained in his message to the House read
by the Speaker, Hon Danladi Yakubu-Salihu during Tuesday’s plenary.
According to the Governor’s letter, the four nominees are Hajia Habiba
Anike-Yusuf as chairman while Alhaji Isiaka Olorundare, Mrs Dorcas
Gunu-Afeniforo and Sir Job Afolayan as members.
The Speaker directed the nominees to forward their CV’s to the Clerk
of the House, Hajia Halimah Kperogi for appropriate legislative action
before the close of work.
The Speaker later announced Tuesday 26th Nov for the screening of the nominees
Recall that former Gov AbdulFatah Ahmed presented similar nominees in
May under the chairmanship of Alhaji Sakariya Onimago who were
screened and confirmed by the 8th legislature
The chairman and other members of the commission assumed office
towards the tail end of the tenure of the immediate past
administration.
However, the State House of Assembly under the leadership of Hon
Danladi Yakubu-Salihu on August10 approved the dissolution of 3
statutory Commissions inaugurated in May by the last administration.
One of the dissolved commissions was the state Civil Service
Commission. The remaining two were the Fiscal Responsibility
Commission and the Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission
(KWSIEC).
