Man machetted to death by suspected cultist in Ilorin

There was tension last Thursday night among traders, passers-by and
residents of Maraba garage in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital as
suspected cultists invaded the area killing a man simply identified as
Olaitan.
The deceased who is said to be widely known in the area as Olly was
reportedly matchetted to death by his unidentified assailants.
Traders and residents were said to have scampered to safety when the
suspected cultists stormed the scene of the incident.
Stains of blood were noticed at the scene of the crime when this
medium visited the area the following day just as some regular
visitors and traders deserted the area.
According to a source who does not want to be named due to the
sensitivity of the issue, the suspects took to their heels immediately
after sniffing life out of Olaitan.
However, when contacted last night, the. Police Public Relations
Officer, Kwara State Command, DSP Ajayi Okasanmi said he is not aware
of the incident.
In a text message sent to our reporter, Okasanmi said he has not been
briefed on any killing by suspected cultists adding that he will make
enquiry and get back to our reporter.
“I have not been informed of the cults killing you are referring to, I
will make enquiry and get back to you,” the text message read.
However, Okasanmi was yet to get back to our reporter before this
newspaper went to bed.
