The 2006 winner of Gulder Ultimate Search season 3 has allegedly been shot dead by unknown gunmen in Lagos on Sunday.
A close friend broke the news in Facebook post that reads: ‘Goodbye Hector-Joberteh the winner of gulder ultimate search season 3 ….May your soul rest in peace and may the good God give ur fam (sic) fortitude to bear the loss ….He was shot to death by 2 unknown men in my street this morning’.
The news was corroborated by another Facebook user, Oluwatosin Van Phillips Genesis, who narrated how the incident happened in a post.
‘I hope I survive this shock. A lady that we have been friends here (Facebook) for over 2 years chat me this morning that she would like to worship at my church today, of course I was very happy because we have not met before and I was like I will be happy to meet her. but wouldn’t be able to see her because of my busy schedule, I dropped the church address and we exchanged phone numbers. When I was through, I called her to ask if she had gone.
“She said something happened immediately she dropped her number for me, that she heard a knock on door of her flat and asked who’s there and a man answered and told her that a car blocked his and asked for the owner. She said she did not know but those men flashed their guns and pushed her inside. They said they have been trailing the car parked not long ago.
“At that point, she could not do any other thing than confess that the owner lived upstairs. They went there to shoot the man. He was rushed to hospital but couldn’t survive it.”
Hector, who only last month returned to the country is said to be survived by a wife, Oseyi and children who all reside abroad.
He was reported to have gone to the Murtala Mohammed airport to pick his younger brother yesterday morning from where he was trailed by the suspected assassins.
His wife, Oseyi, is a former GUS contender from another season and the lovebirds got married on April 5, 2013.
