IEDPU congratulates Saidu on retirement, charges compatriots on community services

Indigenes of Ilorin Emirate in active public service have been charged to always remember to use their offices in such a way that would catalyse the progress of the community without denigrating the principles of objectivity and fairness expected of them.
This call was made by the National President, Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), Alhaji Aliyu Otta Uthman,fsi, in a congratulatory message sent to a distinguished son of Ilorin, Alhaji Idris Amosa Saidu, on his retirement as the Director, Finance and Investment, Tertiary Education Fund(TETFUND) and subsequent appointment as Technical Assistant on Finance and Investment to the Inspector-General of Police,Mr Usman Alikali Baba.
A statement signed by the Union’s National Publicity Secretary, Abubakar Imam, quoted Alhaji Uthman as saying that “while the Union would continue to urge sons and daughters of Ilorin Emirate in active service to always live above board in the discharge of their responsibilities, we insist that there was nothing wrong if such individuals worked enormously at ensuring that the community was not denied of its fair shares of our commonwealth”.
Alhaji Uthman commended the retired financial technocrat for using the privileges of his erstwhile position to attract huge investments to institutions of higher learning in Kwara State, which benefitted tremendously from TETFUND support without denying those located in other states of the federation of their rights and privileges.
The IEDPU President congratulated Alhaji Saidu for retiring gloriously and with his integrity intact despite serving his fatherland for 35 years and in various capacities, saying that the retired chartered accountant should remain grateful to the Almighty Allah for seeing him through his career and for so long.
Alhaji Uthman urged Alhaji Saidu to use his new position in the Office of the Inspector-General of Police to offer quality support services to the Police High Command in such a way that the financial and investment portfolios of the Police would be organised and coordinated in such a way that would lead to huge improvement of our security and serve the interests of the nation.
The retired senior security officer wished Alhaji Saidu a very peaceful and rewarding life in retirement and fruitful experience in his new office.
