2023: Ex-Reps member Makanjuola emerged as running mate for Kwara PDP guber candidate

In the heat of preparation for coming general elections, Kwara state chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has chosen a former member of the House of Representatives, Gbenga Peter Makanjuola, as the running mate of its governorship candidate, Yaman Shuaib Abdullahi.


Makanjuola who was then the house committee chairman on agriculture, represented Ekiti/Isin/Oke-Ero/Irepodun Federal Constituency in the green chamber.
He served as Deputy Chief of Staff to former Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki in the 8th National Assembly.
He also contested for the PDP’s Senatorial ticket for Kwara South but lost the election.
Sources within the party in the state disclosed that Gbenga Makanjuola was chosen out of three nominees being considered for the position.


The two others are Chief Bode Oyedepo and former Special Adviser on Agriculture to former Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, Otunba Anu Ibiwoye.
