By Ahmed Ajikobi

The Imam of Al-Ilal mosque, GRA, Ilorin, Kwara State, Lanre Badmas has attributed lack of fear of Allah to the problems plaguing Nigeria.

Speaking during his sermon on Friday, he said Nigerians have sinned against God thus facing the consequence of their ungodly ways.

The cleric lamented that corruption has eaten deep into the fabric of Nigeria, adding that all forms of ungodliness have become a norm.

He, however, urged Muslims to live righteously and fear Allah, their creator at all times for them to experience turn around of fortunes.

“All the sectors of the economy have turned upside down despite all the mineral resources in Nigeria.

Our health sector is nothing to write home about. The standard of our education system has fallen, to secure admission into university these day is tug of war,” he lamented.

He stated that Nigeria today promotes corruption and bad governance, adding that “Nigerians should repent for Allah to bail us out of the problem.”

The Imam also urged religious leaders to preach fear of Allah to their followers instead of indulging in corrupt politicians.
