Gov Ahmed, Bolaji Abdullahi, Baraje mourn ex-minister

 

The Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, has described the death of a former minister of State for Foreign Affairs and one-time Secretary to the State Government, Saidu Isa, as a big loss to the state and the country.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Abdulwahab Oba, the governor said the deceased made outstanding contributions and selfless services to humanity and his fatherland.

“My heart goes out to the families, friends and well-wishers of the former ambassador and Pro Chancellor of Kwara State University, Malete. Indeed, this death is shocking,” Ahmed said.

According to the governor, the deceased was a community leader and technocrat par excellence whose wealth of experience would be missed by all.

The governor prayed Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, grant him Aljanatul firdaus and give his families solace and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

In the same vein, the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, has described the death of Isa, had created a vacuum in the nation’s governance and polity because of his colossal experience, especially in the area of diplomacy.

He noted that the former minister’s death came at a critical time that his contributions and services were needed to reshape the nation’s polity and diplomacy.

According to him, Isa stood a good chance to contribute own quota to new policies on how to strength foreign relationship due to his diplomatic mien.

The former Minister of Sports and Chairman, National Sports Commission, recalled that the deceased also offered his best in civil service when he rose to the position of Head of Service and Secretary to the Kwara State Government.

He condoled with the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki; Governor Ahmed and the bereaved family.

Also, a chieftain of the APC, Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje described the former minister for Foreign Affairs as a detribalised and knowledgeable Nigerian whose services will be missed sorely by Nigeria.

According to him , the late Isa, the Walin Lafiagi and Chairman Governing Council, Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete was an unassuming personality and a reservoir of civil service knowledge , human resource management and general administration.

Alhaji Baraje added that the deceased was one of the last set of Nigerians trained by the colonialist and well groomed who thereafter used his wealth of knowledge to better the civil service in the state.

Isa died who served as Chairman Governing Council, Federal College of Education Osi-Ile, Abeokuta, Ogun State died in the early hours of Thursday aged 71.
