Kaduna state Governor Mallam Nasir Ahmed el-Rufai yesterday said the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been totally annihilated as a brand adding that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) remains the party to beat.
The Governor stated this in Ilorin on Wednesday while delivering Al-Hikmah University’s first public lecture entitled: ‘Governing justly: Perspective from far and near with lessons for Nigeria”.
He said he is confident that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reconciliation committee would resolve the crises within the APC to make stronger for 2019.
According to him, more revelations concerning the PDP’s 15 years misrule would come to the fore before the 2019 general elections adding that the APC is a miracle to have been formed a year to the election and defeated incumbent that had rule for 16 years.
el-Rufia said the APC will win the 2019 elections even in more states.
“We have many unhappy people, some of them legitimately, some disgruntled people that are unhappy without basis, and we also have rascals and troublemakers who think politics is rascality and to each one there is a different solution.
“The president has established a committee under Asiwaju to reconcile and recognizes that there are people that have worked for the success of the party and they have not been adequately recognized”, he added.
