4months after Turkish expatriates’ rescue Kwara VGN officers bag awards

Four months after the rescue of four Turkish expatriates working with Istanbul Concrete Limited in Edu Local Government, some officials of Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), Kwara State chapter on Monday were presented with a meritorious award by the national headquarters in Ilorin.
The awards which was presented by the Commandant General of the VGN Dr. Muhammed Jahum was in recognition of the role played by Kwara State chapter of VGN in the release of the Turkish nationals and their efforts in  curbing insecurity in the state.
The awardees include; the Commander Kwara VGN and Seriki Ndaji of Ilorin, Alh. Abdulraheem Jimoh, the Assistant Commander General (Joint Operation) Alh. Saka Ibrahim, Offa Commander, Wasiu Adeyemi, Musbau Adekunle, Kudus Azeez and Adebayo Salami.
Others are Saliu Sulaiman, Abdulai Saduko, Muhammed Sakariyau, Adam Alhassan Saba, Subair Mohammed and Muhammed Taoheed.
Speaking to our reporter, the State Commander, Jimoh appreciated the Commander General of VGN, Muhammed Jahunm for the recognition.
According to him, the award will spur his men to work harder and diligently in ensuring security of lives and property in the state.
Also speaking, the Assistant Commander General of the VGN, Saka Ibrahim said the national headquarters will continue to monitor activities of the Kwara Chapter and reward diligence.
Some VGN officers from Edu LG who took part in the rescue of the Turkish nationals were also decorated such as Saliu Suleiman,  Abdulai Tsaduko, Mohammed Zakariyau and Adam Alhasan Saba. Others were; Subairu  Mohamed and Mohammed Taoheed.
It would be recall that unidentified kidnappers abducted four Turkish expatriates namely; Yasin Colak (33), Senerapal (40), Ergun Yurdakul (35) and Seyit Keklik (25) at a relaxation centre in Edu LG of the state.
They were later rescued after about a week through the combined efforts of security agents.
