Gov Ahmed preaches unity of purpose among Kwarans

The Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has charged residents of the state to unite in order to attain development in the state.
Ahmed stated this at the weekend during the inauguration of the new executives of the Association of Professional Plumbers, Kwara State chapter at the Nigeria Union of Journalist Press Centre, Ilorin.
The governor also tasked the new leadership to champion the course of moving the association forward.
Represented by his Special Assistant on Artisan Related Matters, Prince Kazeem Olanipekun, the governor assured the association of his administration’s commitment towards improving the welfare of artisans and the people of the state in general.
The governor noted with happiness the complementary roles of artisans towards the development of the state and urged members not to rest on their oars.
He particularly implored the new executives to justify the confidence reposed in them by ensuring that peace reign supreme among all members of the association and contribute positively to economic growth and development of the state.
He assured that the doors of his administration would always be opened to any association or individual that would add value to economic fortune of the state.
In his inaugural speech, the newly elected Governor of the association, Alhaji Babatunde Alabi promised to lead by example in order to take the association to greater height.
He solicited the support of all members for him to deliver in the tasks ahead.
Among the new executives are; Alhaji Babatunde Alabi, Governor; Deacon Timothy Omowumi, General Secretary; Mallam Abdulganiyu Ibrahim, Financial Secretary; Mallam Shuaib Ibrahim, Treasurer and Comrade Clement Ojo Orire as National BoT Chairman.
Personalities present at the inauguration include; the Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi, National President of Professional Plumbers, Olufemi Owotoye; the Oloro of Oro, Oba Abdulrafiu Ajiboye, the Olupo of Ajase-Ipo, Oba Sikiru Atanda Sanni and the Magaji Nda of Ilorin, Alhaji Soliu Woru Mohammed.
Meanwhile, members of the association had on Thursday carried out repairs on pipe leakages across the metropolis as part of their social responsibility.
Among the area where repairs were carried out include; Ministry of Finance, Awolowo street, Tanke area, Sabo Oke, Emir’s palace, among others.
