Former Conte’s teammate blasts Chelsea management

Former Antonio Conte’s teammate Angelo Conte has hit out at Chelsea board and management over the treatment of his ex-Juventus teammate at the Stamford Bridge.

Di Livio was of the opinion that Conte was led down by the Premier League Champions this season.

Conte won the Premier League title in his debut season with Chelsea but this season has been a disaster following the way the transfer policy was handled at the start of the season.

Chelsea will decide Conte’s fate at the end of the season and it is highly likely they pathways after the Italian tactician missing out of the top four spot and lack of Champions League football next season.

Di Livio said: “If you believe in a coach you must try to support him, especially if he wins the league, according to tribal football.

“You must get along with a coach, you must be on the same path and you must support all of his demands.

“This season, though, he has found that there are better and more motivated teams.

“When he doesn’t win he gets very upset – he’s a real perfectionist. He was a great team-mate and a true friend, and also a great leader in the dressing room.”

Di Livio won several titles with Juventus, he won three Serie A titles with Juventus and a Champions League during his spell with the Old Lady club.
