You can’t divorce, court tells Lilian Esoro, Ubi Franklin

A High Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, has allegedly thrown out the divorce case between record label executive, Ubi Franklin, and his estranged wife, Lilian Esoro.
The case was struck out on Monday, with the judge saying that the basis for their divorce is invalid since Lilian testified that Ubi provides for their child and they are still very good friends.
The report further stated that the judge told them to go and settle their differences amicably, reportedly, because they are only seeking divorce due to childishness.
Recall that the couple split and went their separate ways in 2016 after the birth of their son, Jayden over alleged reports of infidelity and domestic abuse. The marriage lasted only one year. It was reported that Lilian left her matrimonial home and went abroad with her baby few months after his birth.
It was also reported that the actress was noticeably absent during the grand opening of Ubi’s new business venture Tilt Terrace in Lekki, on October 30, 2016. The event which was attended by several A-list celebrities had Lilian Esoro conspicuously missing.
Afterwards, their separation was confirmed but divorce was still pending. While being separated, Ubi Franklin has had two more children from two other women which clearly shows that he has long moved on with his love life.
Everyone has been expecting to hear news on their divorce, many others even think they’re divorced already but the court has reportedly rejected their divorce and asking them to go settle their issues amicably. This comes as a big surprise and shock to a lot of people.
As for the estranged couple, we don’t know their stand on this yet. We don’t know if they’ll hearken to the court and go ahead to settle their differences and come back together as husband and wife again, or they’ll revolt and find an alternative means to terminate the marriage.
