Alleged Embezzlement: Bolarinwa APC faction suspends party chair

 

The Ilorin South local government executive of the Basheer Omolaja Bolarinwa led All Progressives Congress (APC) has recently suspended its party chairman, Mallam Monsuru Ademola over alleged fiscal mismanagement.
This much was contained in a release made available to newsmen after the emergency meeting held in Ilorin over the issue.
No fewer than 24 members of the local government executives signed the resolution.
According to the party, his suspension is coming on the hills of allegations of financial mismanagement and highhandedness level against him by party members among others.
The Vice-Chairman, Com. Akeem Jaji has since been appointed as the acting Chairman pending the full investigation into the allegation.
The letter of the suspension which was addressed to the state chairman of the party and sighted by our reporter last night read in parts:
“This is to inform you of the decision of the entire executive members of the APC, Ilorin South Local Government to suspend the chairman of the party effective from 23rd January, 2019 to allow for a proper investigation of some allegation leveled against him’.
“The decision to suspend him was taken at an emergency meeting of the local government held today (Wednesday). Some of these allegations include mismanagement of party fund, dictatorship and lack of transparency and honesty in running the affairs of the party.
“After due consultation with elders and stakeholders over the issue has therefore resolved to suspend the chairman to allow for a peace and unbiased investigation”.
