Cleric tasks politicians on good leadership

A Cleric, Reverend Sunday Timothy Adewole of St Barnabas Cathedral Church, Sabo-Oke, Ilorin, Kwara State has advised people in positions of authority in Nigeria to use their office to impact positively on the lives of the governed.
He gave the advice in his sermon at a Special  thanksgiving service to mark the 2019 Press Week of the  Nigeria  Union of Journalists, Kwara State Council at the church, yesterday.
Speaking on the theme: Trust and Obey,” he decried bad leadership in the country, which according to him has made the citizens to lose trust in their leaders and has plunged the country into a state of anomie.
The cleric warned that politicians who indulge in self interest at the detriment of the people, would not go into oblivion in the minds of people in future.
He, however, urged Christians to put their trust in God as He is the one who can give hope in hopeless situation, reminding them that there is nothing too hard for their Creator to do.
Meanwhile, Ministers of God in Ilorin and its environ on Sunday charged Christians on need to be steadfast in their faith in God.
A Cleric, Prophet Gideon Owoseni called on Christians to put their trust only in God and believe in the power of the Holy Spirit.
He made the call in his sermon delivered at the 63rd anniversary of Soldiers of Christ Band, Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church, Ilorin District Headquarters.
Speaking on the Topic “The power of the Holy Spirit”, Prophet Owoseni called on the people to always remember the hereafter and stop running after things of the world.
He implored Christians to be active, holy and work to proclaim the glory of God at all times, urging them to be committed to serve God and humanity.
Speaking on the Theme: “God’s Requirements”, Reverend Joseph Agboluaje of Second ECWA, Shao noted that attending church, giving tithes and offering, working in the vineyard are good but cannot guarantee godly society.
Reverend Agboluaje explained that God made His wish clear in Micah 6:8: as He wants his people to do what is right by doing justice, to love, have mercy and to walk humbly with God.
The Cleric called on leaders and the led, to examine these areas on a regular basis to make their worship acceptable to God.
Pastor Taiye Aransiola of the United Evangelical Miracle Church off Yidi Road Ilorin in his message titled “Divine intervention”, stated that there are certain situations that people find themselves that it is only the hand of God that can bring them out.
The Cleric said God still loves to intervene in seemingly impossible situations, advising Christians to invite Him today and He will surprise them.
Similarly, Pastor Akin Obadofin has called on Christians to continue to pray fevently for their leaders to enable them succeed in piloting the affairs of the nation.
Pastor Obadofin who is  the founder Believer Vineyard Church, Agbo-Oba emphasised that with God and prayer all things are possible.
Prophetess Cecilia lbrahim of the C & S Church Olorun-Isadi, Gaa-Imam, llorin also stressed the need for Christians to love their neighbours, adding that whosoever loves the  creator must love his neighbour.
Pastor Johnson Olurotimi Adeoti of the CAC  Citadel of Solution Bolorunduro, Amoyo, enjoined Christians to extend hands of friendship to their neighbours irrespective of  their backgrounds and sentiments for peaceful co-existence and development of the society.
