Ilorin Emir assures IG of readiness for police school in domain

 

The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman, Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari has expressed readiness of his people  to host the newly-approved Police Secondary School at Ballah,  Asa Local Government of Kwara State.
The Emir gave the assurances while playing host to a delegation of the Inspector-General of Police,Mr.Mohammed Adamu, at his palace on Friday.
The delegation was in Ilorin to assess the level of facilities and preparation for the take-off of the institution.
This was contained in a statement signed by the the National Publicity Secretary of Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), Abubakar S. Imam.
According to the statement, the Emir said that the location of the school at Ballah would, no doubt, facilitate the rapid development of that axis as such will bring about the socio-economic transformation of the host community.
The first-class monarch also commended the tireless efforts of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union(IEDPU) for working relentlessly towards the smooth take-off of the institution.
In her remarks, the leader of the delegation and Force Education Officer, Mrs. Rabi Umar, a Deputy Commissioner of Police, assured the Emir and his people of the desire of the Inspector-General of Police to ensure that the institution opens her gate to students for learning by or before January next year.
Umar expressed satisfaction with the level and quality of work executed so far at the site of the institution, saying that the Police High Command was appreciative of the cooperation of the Emir and his subjects, particularly the people of Ballah and the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union.
Also speaking, the Ag. National President of the IEDPU, Alhaji Yahaya O. Ahmed, said that the people of Ilorin Emirate, at home and in diaspora, are anticipatory take-off of the institution, which, he believed, would contribute positively to the all round progress of the community.
Ahmed thanked the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq for his giant strides in every facet of governance and particularly the education sector.
He also appreciated the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari as well as the Chief of Staff, Government House, Ilorin, Engr. Aminu Adisa Logun, for their various supports as he also saluted the Inspector General of Police for granting the wishes of the people of Ilorin Emirate to host the institution.
The delegation had earlier visited the institution and the Executive Governor of Kwara State, who assured the police of the continuous support of the State Government.
