Kwara Badminton set for Katsina open

...we're going for Gold - Olokoba

 

The Kwara State Badminton Association has said its members are battle
set for 2019 Katsina open slated for late this month.
Speaking on this development with Pilot Sports on Saturday, the deputy
chairman, Kwara State Badminton Association, Prof. Sulyman Olokoba
said all is set for the Kwara contingents to participate at the event
and particularly win gold for the state.
According to the medical Don, ‘all is set for the tourney and we set
out for nothing less at the competition than gold.
“Preparations for the forthcoming Katsina tournament is in top gear.
Finishing touches is being put to their preparations to ensure the
players are in top form.
“Kwara State being the home of Badminton, our target is the top prize
which is gold.
“The Kwara Badminton players have always been supported by the State
Government, the Kwara State Badminton Association, and individuals
like myself with interest in Badminton. The support is never enough,
and can always be improved upon,” Olokoba said.
Continuing, ‘about 17 States will be participating at the fiesta and
our players had trained enough for glory at the tourney.’
“The performance of Kwara Badminton players at the recent Lagos
tournament was good. We won gold at the female doubles event.
“The pair of Zainab and Sofia did Kwara proud. The male players
dropped out at various stages beyond the round of 32 stage,” he
concluded.
