By Olayinka Nakowa

Ibrahim Taiwo spent only six (6) months, and his name speaks well of him till date
With every sense of respect, I’m writing this open letter and a beautiful season greeting to Your Excellency, all in the spirits of festivity, holiness and brotherhood. I believe you’re fine and good, because I’ve been seeing you on television channels, and social medias, where you attended many functions. Your Excellency Sir, with all your beautiful smiles and nice appearances, I think it is not necessary to ask you how happy you are, because, I’m very sure that you’re one of the most happiest people on the planet, as God has made your dream of ruling your state a reality as the Executive Governor of Kwara State, even during the lifetime of your (both) patents, its indeed, a great achievement, worthy of rejoicing and thanking God Almighty for, Alhamdulilah !!!
Sir, Colonel Ibrahim Taiwo became the second (2nd) Military Governor of Kwara State between July 1975 —13th February 1976, which lasted for just six months. He is today termed as the most loved military Head of State in Nigeria, Gen. Muhammed Muritala Ramat who is the Head of State, and commander-in-chief then.
Both Ibrahim Taiwo, and Muritala Muhammed’s regime was cut short, due to the bloody coup détat of February 13th, 1976, that murdered the best ever military head of State in the History of Nigeria, along with Ibrahim Taiwo, who was the administrative head in Kwara.
Within that short period of time, the names of the duo and their achievements speak well of them. Thus, the both personalities have been immortalised, with some of the attractive government facilities and many functioning roads across Nigeria are named after them.  Even though, Gen. Muritala’s denomination is the most popular naira note among the Nigeria currency.
Col. Ibrahim Taiwo performed tremendously and lays down some excellent track records, regarded to be a landmark achievements in Kwara State, such as:- The establishment of the Kwara State Agricultural Development Corporation, the production department of which later became the Limited Liability Companies, namely, Kwara State Animal feeds Company Ltd, Kwara State Grains production Company Ltd, Kwara State Poultry and Livestock Production Company Ltd, and Kwara State Agricultural Land Development Ltd. The Kwara State Council for Art and Culture was also established at that time, and was mandated to revive, preserve and promote the development of arts and culture in the State.
The introduction of the Universal Free Primary Education (UPE) in 1976, also saw a vast improvement in literacy level across the state, particular among the less privileges who had no such opportunity. His administration also has to his credit, the establishment of the Kwara State Furniture Manufacturing Company, and the Kwara State Pilgrim Welfare Board.
Because of Six (6) months, the administration of this beautiful military governor, have made him to be immortalized, and have “Ibrahim Taiwo Roads” in some States in Nigeria, you can also do the same without any flimsy excuses you’re building on now.
Your Excellency sir, let me remind you of some of your party’s campaign promises, which I believe you’re also aware of, and the party manifestoes that promised heaven and earth to all Kwarans. Unfortunately, one of your party stalwart has featured on their usual Radio programme, denied all these promises, even to the extent of saying it boldly that none of these promises exists in the APC’s manifestoes, though, the man in question was kicked and lashed by a faction of the progressives in your party.
A fellow being will be loving each other or increases in loving one another on the basses of the fulfilled promises…  Sir, all these promises need to be fulfilled which I don’t think you need a reminder, as all Kwarans are aware of these promises too. In fact, some even have all the recorded clips of both your printed campaign promises and different audio versions of your party Elders promises on Radio programmes, of not less than five years back, and these promises via Radio Programme were listened to by the masses and considered the needs to change the Government, which led to your victory; look for it and listen by yourself (Campaign promises) as reminder.
In Kwara States, and Nigeria at large, governance and politics are becoming the tools of rivalry and enmity, where those in power witch hunt their opponents, and also boasting of been in power, with the power of “do and undo”… Sir, its unfortunate that your administration is swimming in some ignoramus pool of such.
Mall. AbdulRahman Abdulrazaq, you need to be very careful in your dealings, and know with the facts that you’ve become the Executive Governor of Kwara state. Remember, those you’re partying with today have one time worked for Saraki, some have called you unprinted names, why some saw you then as a “mungun” who came and gone, and spent lavishly for no political reasons.
Now, you’re together, their spirits aren’t with you but in body, and most of them are all combinations of hungry lions that’s looking for what to eat, suck and survive on. You need to be wary of them, they’re enemies within, they are your first opposition in the state, not the Sarakites you’re running after. Your Excellency, let me tell you sir, enemies acting to be friends will never guide you aright and never have a meaningful things to point to you towards development, but will advise you to be running after Saraki’s shadow, all in misguiding you to lose concentration in the affairs of the state, which will make you a loser at the end, and add up more to your political rivalry and create more enemies for you. These set of people will be looking for the loop holes of your predecessors, all in the name of politics, and nailing them down for you, but digging your political grave.
That very name; SARAKI…  can’t be erased, that name was engraved on the souls of every individuals who loves them. The personalities and achievements of late Olusola Saraki, Bukola Saraki and Gbemisola Saraki are very rear, and their philanthropical gestures in the state have earned the family an everlasting love, respect and dignities. If anybody tries crushing down the name; “SARAKI”, its just a work in futility.
On the recent revocation of late Dr. Olusola Saraki’s landed property in Ilorin, its a clear indication on your already prepared battle of vendetta on Saraki’s family. In recognition of that, we are very happy on the replies of Dr. Bukola Saraki and his statements on the issue…. We are resolute.
Our dear Governor, your father has once have a dream of controlling the State, and also has this greatest opportunity in the past, of becoming the political giant in the State, but failed… because, he didn’t have such a remarkable philanthropic achievements to be recognized with and remembered for. Now, the opportunity is now yours, make a good history and build meaningful things as the governor of the state, not political talks  and vendetta to settle generational family scores.
In case you don’t know, Baba Saraki’s strides remains evergreen in Kwara Bukola Saraki built many things, including Physical infrastructures in the State, and that’s why he was described as an “Architect of a Modern Kwara”. For clarity purpose, Gov. Muhammad Alabi Lawal also did well, but his tenure and achievements can’t be compare with Bukola Saraki and Fatai Ahmed whose witnessed large numbers of achievements in the state records. In case you don’t know, Gov. Muhammed Alabi Lawal is also a team member of Saraki dynasty, same as those you have in your present government, most of them are made by Baba Saraki; the name you found irritating and disgusting.
Sir, if someone is in a corner, whispering into your ears that Saraki dynasty doesn’t have any meaningful achievement in Kwara State, they are only toying with your intelligence, because they all know your weaknesses. Sir, you need to hear these facts, the road that leads to your family house in Idi-Igba was facilitated and constructed with asphalt by Bukola Saraki, as one of his constituency projects as Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial district in the 8th NASS. The Banquet Hall, where you always host government functions and take good pictures, also was built by Saraki when he was the Governor of Kwara state. These two alone have made you to became a pathetic liar which I don’t believe is good for your name.
Even though, Kwarans are aware of the large achievements of Saraki, which are all visible to the blinds and audible to the deaf… But, they are only mocking you, while listening to your lies that  “16years of Saraki is nothing in Kwara…”. Sir, this is regarded as nothing, but a political scandal.
Your Excellency sir, the counterpart funds you claimed to have paid for educational development hasn’t yielded anything positive in Kwara, the subvention paid to our higher institutions also hasn’t changed anything in our tertiary institutions too, particularly on the huge amount of tuition fee, paid in all our Colleges of Education, Polytechnic, Aviation College, Vocational Center, and KWASU built by Saraki which will all expected to be cut down drastically for poor masses to access as promised during your campaign. The increase in the Bursary and Scholarship of all Kwara state students in tertiary institutions as promised turned to be fake. On this, the reverse is the case, as this as well proved abortive.
The failed promise of clearing arrears of the SUBEB and LG Staffers and their promotion with effective payment in lines with Civil service GL/Steps are the talk of the town now. The salary adjustment of 18 thousands minimum wages, like that of Osun, Oyo, Kogi, Ekiti even Lagos are all what we are expecting now in Kwara, before the full implementation of the 30 thousands minimum wage, which we all believe to be the same as that of all these our neighboring states. Yes! You can do it.
To cut this short, your name also can be engraved on our souls, the same as that of SARAKI, and can be immortalized after your demise like Ibrahim Taiwo, if you and your family didn’t miss this second opportunity and privilege.
Sir, Col. Ibrahim Taiwo of blessed memory spent only Six (6) months as a Governor of Kwara State, and you’re now clocking Eight (8) months as both the Bukola Saraki and Fatah Ahmed’s Achievements within hundred days in office are far more better than what you are struggling with in 8 months.
I remember a brother, who usually said at the end of every last line of his write -up then, (before the last general Election) that, “May God help the youths the truth to know.” Presently, he has  hypocritically changed it to “May AA succeed.”
Yes!!! GAA needs our prayers, no doubt but our prayer to Allah is to make the prayers of this government apologists for the last administration be answered on this present administration in the State.
Amin.
Happy New (Gregorian) year… May it be a prosperous one that shall birth a new Hope, Progress, Happiness and Development. Nakowa, writes from Ilorin
