College, Polytechnic matriculate 491

Federal College of Wildlife Management, New Bussa, Niger State has matriculated 411 new students admitted into the college for its 2019/2020 academic session.

The Provost of the College, Dr. Titus Ayodele Ampitan advised the new students to be well focused in their studies, be disciplined, abide by the rules and regulations of the college and “Let your academic pursuit be the major fulcrum of all your activities.

To achieve success, he advised the students to distance themselves from all acts of moral decadence and social vices.

“Your journey from matriculation to graduation requires high level of discipline in order to achieve excellence. Punctuality in the attendance of lectures as well as active participation in all assessments which include; texts, assignments, practical sessions and fieldwork will contribute in no small measure to your success”.

The Provost charged the new intake to be security conscious, because “Security is the responsibility of all of us and not government alone”.

He advised them to “Report all cases of suspected threat to life and properties in the College to the appropriate authorities assuring that the college has put a mechanism in place to protect lives and properties in the College.”

He said the college is on course to accredit more courses by the NBTE, Kaduna before next matriculation ceremony.

The Deputy Provost, Dr. Shefiu Kilishi Halidu reinstated the commitment of the Provost and College Management to the smooth running of the College by providing enabling environment for teaching, learning and research to strive despite lean financial resources.

The college Register, Mr. Samuel Owonubi, promised that all requirements of students in terms of water, stationeries, security, tables and chairs, lecture rooms and library to make students convenience priority is already in place. He advised them to follow due process in letting management know whatever challenges they may encounter in course of their stay in the College.

Meanwhile, no fewer than 80 newly admitted students matriculated for 2020/2021 academic section at the Novelty Polytechnic, Kishi, the headquarters of Irepo Local Government Area of Oyo State.

In his speech, the proprietor of the institution Dr. Salami Ganiyu Gbolagade (GAS) who was represented by the school coordinator, Comr. Tijani Abdujelil Ayinde explained that Novelty Polytechnic intends to expand possibilities across spheres through technology, creativity, innovation, research and community services.

He noted that it is the vision and dream of proprietor to ensure that the institution ranks as the best amongst equals in no distant future.

Ayinde pointed out that one of the proprietor’s goals was to place his community on the global map through education that would benefits all and sundry across the country, calling on Nigerians to key into the vision and mission of the institution.

The coordinator urged the fresh student to always remember that the success of the long journey embarked upon will largely depend on their doggedness, sincere sacrifices and readiness.

He warned the students to desist from act of hooliganism, cultism, indecent dressing, exam malpractices and other crime related cases, emphasizing that the institution would not accept any indiscipline from any of its students.

He urged the students not to hesitate to report any cases of sexual harassment, intimidation and any other vices within and outside the institution

In his address, the Iba of Kishi Engr. Moshood Aweda Arowoduye who spoke through the National President of Kishi Progressives Union (KPU) Chief Bayo Adesope expressed delight over the establishment of the polytechnic describing it as a beginning of blessings for the whole Oge-Ogun and Borgu kingdom as a whole.

Adesope commended the founder of the institution for sighting a unique and technology institution of learning, calling all other wealthy indigenes of the community to emulate it.

Also speaking, the emir of Okuta and it Kaiama counterpart, Alhaji Abubakar Shero Idris and Alhaji Omar Haliru represented by Mallam Abdulrahman expressed satisfaction on the new development of the institution in Kishi.

They assured the students and the community of their support and cooperation in both security and patronage nothing that the institution would reduce the hardship of seeking admission from other places by their indigenes.
