COVID-10: Kwara Police impounds 700 motorcycles

No fewer than 700 motorcycles have been impounded by the Kwara State Police Command in the fight against the spread of COVID 19 in the state.
the impounded motorcycles were said to belong to members of the public who disobeyed government lockdown and movement restriction directive.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the command, DSP Ajayi Okasanmi disclosed this during a chat with National Pilot on Wednesday.
“Some of the motorcycles were taken to Police Headquarters and other were kept at various Police Divisions across the state.
The riders were also arrested and prosecuted in the court of Law.
“It is not only commercial motorcycle operators that were arrested, some private riders who violated the order of the state government were also mde to face the consequence of their action,” he added.
The police spokesperson then urged members of the public to abide by the directives of the State Government on COVID-19 to avoid arrest by security agents.
