Governor Abdulrahaman Abdulrasaq’s 365 days celebration of shame

By AbdulSalam Bolakale AbdulSalam
Democratic governments focus on accountability as a method to ensure the public understands what is happening. This will provide them a way to proceed when things go wrong. This is one of the reasons why those that rates the performance of Mallam AbdulRahaman AbdulRasaq and his 365 days “celebration” in office a sham and a shame.
Bad government is the unfavorable relationship between the Government and those who are being governed. This is as a consequence of bad decision making.
Governor AbdulRahaman AbdulRasaq 365 days in office lacked transparency and any government that lacks transparency has failed in everything. Accordingly, the World Bank Institute has suggested and introduced reforms that address transparency in governance, which
are unavoidable;
1. Disclosure of the public of all assets and income of every public office holder.
2. Ensure access by the public to all government information.
3. Ensure that each individual and the media have freedom of speech and expression.
Mallam AbdulRahaman AbdulRasaq failed in these three aspects and Kwarans should judge him.
Why is the Freedom Of Information bill still kept under his minion, the speaker’s pillow till now?
Another area that Mallam AbdulRahaman AbdulRasaq failed is in area of monthly allocation from federal government and State Internal Generated Revenue. No kwaran know’s how much is our monthly IGR anymore and indeed what the Government is using it for in Governance.
The hypocrites within kwara stakeholders, most importantly those that called themselves or turned to radio or facebook comrades and activist that suppose to challenge our governor on transparency have turned a blind eye because some of them want to be Permanent Secretaries, Special Assistants or Advisers to the governor. Commissioner or Board Member etc, all this make them to keep mute and see nothing bad in this government.
How many ministry are functional in Kwara State today under this government, 99.9% of commissioner’s don’t know what is going on in their ministry because everything is allocated from government house by his “Highness” the emperor.
I pity local government worker’s and primary school teachers, hope Mallam AbdulRahaman AbdulRasaq has paid all their arrears and fully implemented the #18000 minimum wage and new approved #30000 minimum wages?
How many of them dare complain, despite #1500, #2000, #3000 and #6000 being deducted from their salary every month? However, they have to keep silent because it’s now *ISO NU EKUN, AMUMARA NI*.
No good road in Ilorin anymore except Ahmadu Bello way, that was done under former Senate President Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki when he was the executive governor of Kwara State.
Governor AbdulRahaman AbdulRasaq should not see renovation of government high school as achievement, Kwarans should ask him how many schools he renovate in Kwara North or South?
Kwarans should understand that if a dog is governing a state, what can you hear everyday other than horrible barking noises? Why does Kwara APC still behave like an opposition party, with continuous lies and propaganda?
Governor AbdulRahaman AbdulRasaq should understand that nothing can destroy a government more quickly than it’s failure to observe it’s promises and it’s own laws.
