FIFA postpones Nigeria-Lesotho 2021 AFCON qualifier

World football governing body FIFA have postponed international matches in September in Africa, Asia, Oceania and North America which will mean the Super Eagles 2021 AFCON qualifier reverse game against Lesotho is off.
Nigeria were scheduled to welcome Lesotho on September 8 after they thumped the Southern Africans 4-2 in the first leg in Maseru in November 2019.
A new date has yet to be fixed for this match.
The latest postponement lends credence to fears that the Eagles may not play international football this year.
In March, the AFCON qualifying double header against Sierra Leone was put off and this was followed by the away clash in Benin fixed for June.
The Eagles top Group L with six points from two matches, while Benin are second on three points and Lesotho third on a point.
Sierra Leone are bottom of the standings on a solitary point.
The qualifying tournament for the 2022 World Cup is scheduled to start in October.
The Eagles are drawn along with Cape Verde, Central African Republic and Liberia.
