A Non-Governmental Organisation, Ahmed Ayinla Foundation has donated food items worth millions of naira to the Islamic Orphanage in Ilorin, Kwara State.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after presentation of the food items, the Chairman of the foundation, Dr. Ahmed Ayinla said the need to contribute his own quota to the society motivated him to set up the NGO.
“As part of our programmes to assist the less-privileged in the society, we decided to donate food items to some orphans under the care of Islamic Orphanage Organization headed by Architects Saefullahi Ahmad Alege.
“I run a private school and every year I enrol many orphans into the school free of charge and that has been in place for over a decade now. I paid the tuition fees, uniform and materials of these students.”
“I see these gesture as part of my responsibility to humanity and to ensure these children can compete favourably with their peers in the society.’
Ayinla then charged the well-to-do in the society to also help the less privilege most especially orphans.
“I think it is part of our social responsibility to give back to the environment that made us via handouts and relief materials. We have to put ourselves in the shoes of these orphans and extend hands of fellowship to them,” he stressed.
Responding, the Head of Islamic Orphanage Organization, Arch. Saefullahi Alege thanked the foundation for the kind gesture.
“We thank Dr. Ayinla for this act of magnamity, he has been doing this for a period of time now as some of our students are enrolled at his school. We pray God to continue to bless him more,” Alege said.
