My emergence privilege to serve – Newly elected Ilorin West CAN chair

By Mike Adeyemi
The newly elected Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria ((CAN), Ilorin West, Revd (Dr) Steve Fatoye has described his emergence as a privilege to serve humanity.
Fatoye, who is a Senior Pastor of Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Osere stated this shortly after his inauguration as the new coordinator of Ilorin West CAN, held at First Baptist Church, Surulere , Ilorin, last Sunday.
According to the clergyman, “My emergence as the Coordinator of Ilorin West CAN is a rare honour.
“The Bible says in the book of Mark chapter 16 verse 10; Go ye into the whole world and preach the gospel to all nations. This is what we have been assigned to do.
“Assuming this position is a big opportunity to reach churches. I will be privileged to preach more. I will be privileged to preach the unity of purpose of Christ.”
The man of God charged Christians in Nigeria to always obey the laws of the land and support the leadership.
“My message to the full house is that at a time like in our nation, if we can just agree with our leaders, if church members will agree with their pastor, if community members will agree with their leaders, things will change for better.
“But at present, there is disparity everywhere in the country. If we can just come together with unity of purpose and have common goals, we will achieve greatness,” he said.
Fatoye thanked everyone that graced his inauguration ceremony as the 8th coordinator of Ilorin West zone.
“I thank those that came to felicitate with me on my installation. I pray that whatever they lay their hands on will prosper. They will rise without climbing. They will be winning without fighting. In the name of God they will never be a burden to anybody and they will be rapturable,” Fatoye prayed.
Dignitaries present at the event included the Special Adviser to the Kwara State Governor on Christian religion, Revd (Dr) S. O Adedayo, Revd (Dr) Babatomiwa Owojaye, the state CAN Chairman, Most Revd (Dr) Paul Olawore, Revd Reuben Ibitoye, Revd (Dr) E.O Alonge and Revd J.O Jolayemi among others.
