University of Ibadan picks Kwara State College of Nursing and Midwifery as affiliate

The University of Ibadan has selected Kwara State College of Nursing and Midwifery, as a study centre to offer Diploma, Higher Diploma and Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) programmes in Public Health and Science Laboratory Technology.
In a document signed by Dr. Adebanjo Adebayo Eniolorunfe, the Director of Admission, University of Ibadan (Consultancy Services Unit), it assured, “the programmes would be run on either Part-Time (Weekend only) or Full Time. University of Ibadan Consultancy Services Unit shall pay Kwara State College of Nursing and Midwifery 35% of tuition fees per session on each student that enrolls for the programmes”.
The University promised to abide by a Memorandum of Understanding to be signed later by both institutions and reiterated its belief that, “we are confident that the usage of your classroom(s) shall be of great mutual benefits. We look forward to establishing a rewarding relationship with your college and we assure you of excellent maintenance, prompt resolution of issue and a mutual educational relationship”.
The course programmes/durations according to the statement are, “Diploma One (1) year; Higher Diploma One (1) year; Postgraduate Diploma Six (6) months.
“While lectures, examinations, matriculation and convocation would be held in Kwara State College of Nursing and Midwifery, Ilorin, interested graduands can participate in the Matriculation and Convocation ceremony at the main campus of University of Ibadan.
“Among the many benefits of the usage of Kwara State College of Nursing and Midwifery are: it will boost the status of the College, it will confirm the dignified first rated of the College, it will widen, improve and enhance the frontiers of teaching and research, while Kwara State College of Nursing and Midwifery will be a centre for continuous education and career advancement programmes for working professionals, bringing university educational programmes, closer to students and College Community.
“Finally, it will create access for mind reformation and continuous intellectual building.”
Also, Ladoke Akintola University of technology, Ogbomoso is set to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Kwara State College of Nursing and Midwifery, Ilorin for the running of LAUTECH Masters, Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) programmes in the College.
The MoU expressed customer relationship management in all educational transactions, assuring of excellent service delivery, prompt resolution of issues and establishing a rewarding relationship with Kwara State College of Nursing and Midwifery.
Reacting to the development, Alhaji Imam Ayinla Abubakar, the Provost, Kwara State College of Nursing and Midwifery, Ilorin, said, “this is a beautiful development for nursing profession. This is bringing impactful knowledge closer to the prospective students, working class and professionals who desire to expand their scope of knowledge in nursing education and development”, the Provost emphasised.
