UN rescue commission launches operation in Kwara

A United Noble Rescue Services (UNRS), a nongovernmental organization has commenced operation in Kwara State.
The commissioning of the NGO which took place on Saturday in Ilorin, the state capital, witnessed investiture of officers and men of the organization.
Speaking at the event, the convener, Rescue Field Marshal and Global chairman, Dr. Steve Midalah who was represented by Ambassador Dr Anagwu Ikechukwu Augustine (RSG) said UNRS was established to rescue humanity.
“We are United Nobles Rescue Services (UNRS), an international care giving, nongovernmental and Nonreligious organization with a special consultative status at the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
“UNrescue services promotes the United Nations humanitarian services globally and focuses on the sustainable development goal (SDGs) which includes to achieve universal education, eradicate extreme poverty and hunger, reduce child mortality, improved maternal health, ensure environmental sustainability among others,” he said.
Midalah noted that UNrescue’s membership spans across the globe as influential personalities cutting over political and religious divided makes the organization.
“The UNRescue Services has in membership some personalities around the world cutting across political, religious, retired military and paramilitary personnel, members of the civil society, theatre artist.
“Others includes, music and sport legal luminaries, bankers, educationists, journalist, scientists, medical Doctor and people from all works of life who are respected and established in their own right.
“These people decided to come together to contribute their financial, social, moral and professional expertise in support of humanity in order to have a world of safety and tranquility ” Midalah stressed.
The convener further added that the purpose of the NGO’s International noble ambassador award is aimed at honoring care givers in the society.
“The UNrescue services has initiated some programmes to help reach out to humanity both locally and internationally. In Nigeria for instance, in our efforts to deliver quality and affordable housing to our citizens”, he noted.
Highlight of the event was the inauguration and inspection of the Kwara State team headed by Mohammed Bello.
