Between Kwara HoS and baby Leroy

Children of the affluent, civil servants and the less privileged had a swell time during the 2017 Children’s party organised by the office of the wife of the Kwara State Governor in conjunction with the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, penultimate Friday in Ilorin.
While the events lasted, five months old, Leroy was the cynosure of all eyes as he looked radiant on a T-shirt and a pair of jeans. Many present thought little Leroy was of European or American descent but unknown to them he hails from Koko in Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state.
Among the admirers of Leroy was the Head of Service, Mrs Susan Dupe Oluwole who cuddled him for about 30 minutes. But when it was time for her to leave, little Leroy held tight to the garment of HoS, like they have known each other for ages and for a few minutes, he refused entreaties by other guests to carry him.


Harmony Holdings PRO, Kayode Aremu joins Sobi FM

One of the most dedicated personnel of Harmony Holdings Limited, Kayode Aremu has defected to Sobi FM, a new and leading radio station in Kwara State.
Until he left HHL, Aremu was the Head of Corporate Affairs and he did well in managing the image of the agency. Aremu is to serve as News Consultant at the radio station, AFTER HOURS wish him well in his new role.


Salary Backlog: COED, Ilorin staff turns commercial motorcyclist

To make ends meet following the backlog of salaries owed employees of a few tertiary institutions in the state, a non academic staff of Kwara State College of Ilorin, has become a commercial motorcyclist.
Speaking with AFTER HOURS at the weekend, the man who should be in his 50s said life has been difficult for him and his family following the five months’ salary owed him and his colleagues at COED, Ilorin.
The man who pleaded not to be named for fear of victimisation said through his ‘new trade’ he has been to cater for his family to certain extent.
Asked whether he still reports to office daily, the commercial motorcyclist said he no longer frequent at work due to the salary crisis.


Diversification: Kwara Speaker pictured clearing farmland

Beyond passing bills to the benefit of Kwarans and residents of the state, the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly (KWHA), Dr Ali Ahmad showed his other side in a picture that went viral on the social media.
At a time many pundits have clamoured the diversification of the economy, Dr Ali Ahmed seemed to be championing that course as he was pictured cutting grass on a farmland recently.
Recall that the KWHA lately declare making a bumper harvest from its soya beans and other crops farm in Moro Local Government Area of the state.
