NPFL: Kwara United beats MFM in Ilorin

 

Kwara United Football Club of Ilorin on Sunday defeated MFM FC 3-1 in Sunday’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) game played at the Kwara Stadium complex, Ilorin.

Segun Alebiosu had put the Harmony Boys ahead in the 16th minutes before Sikiru Olatunbosun drew level in 26th minute to end the game 1-1 at half time.

On resumption, the Bala boys continue their impressive form and scored another goal in 48 minutes through Stephen Alfred, via penalty spot.

Odudu Sunday however increased the tally in 75 minutes to cement the three maximum points for the home team.

Speaking after the game, Kwara United Coach, Abubakar Bala described the victory as a difficult one, considering the fighting spirit of the opponent.

Kwara United will play their next game against IfeayiUba in Ilorin.

Meanwhile, a stalwart of the All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje had pledged a sum of one hundred thousand naira for each goal scored by the Harmony Boys in the encounter with MFM FC.

Alhaji Baraje noted that the donation was made to cheer the club to victory and encourage the players and management to redouble their efforts towards moving up the table.

The APC stalwart who was represented during the encounter by his media aide, Alhaji Muhammed Tunde Akanbi donated the money to the management of the club and expressed satisfaction with the performance of the players.

Alhaji Baraje further pledged his continuous support to the Harmony Boys and urged both the players and management to always make the state, particularly the fans proud through improved performance.
