EFCC docks suspected internet fraudsters in Ilorin

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission [EFCC], Ilorin Zonal Office on Tuesday, arraigned two suspected Internet fraudsters before a Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin.
The suspects, Johnson Opeyemi Okuselu aka, Blessed Saviour, and Akande Olarewaju Saheed also know as James Kirk, were arraigned on two separate charges before Justice Sikiru Oyinloye.
One of the charges revealed that the defendants attempted to commit an offence by pretending to be one Blessed Saviour, a white woman who is capable of providing jobs in United States of America.
The defendant was alleged to have deceived one Omni Guzman as contained in his e-Mail conversation done through his G-mail account.
He was accused of committing an offence contrary to section 95 and 321 of the penal code law and punishable under section 322 of the same law.
Another charge sheet added that Saheed sometime in April 2019 or thereabout also pretended to be white man in love to one Brenda Hurley.
The information was contained in Email conversation done through Gmail account ‘[email protected].
He thereby committed an offence contrary to section 95 and 321 of the penal code Law and punishable under section 322 of the same law.
The accused persons pleaded  “guilty to the charges”.
Following their pleas, Prosecuting Counsel, Aliyu Adebayo informed Justice Sikiru Oyinloye that the accused persons have entered into a plea bargain agreement with the commission.
He asked the court to give a date for prosecution to call its star witness in order to review the facts of the case.
Justice Oyinloye adjourned the case till 8th of June for reviewing of facts and ordered the defendants to be remanded in EFCC custody.
