The Anglican Communion has been charged to depend solely on the potent blood of Jesus Christ, which is capable of solving perceived problems as well as confronting challenges facing them, especially at this lenten season.
That was the message of the Bishop of Diocese of Kwara, Rt. Rev’d Sunday Timothy Gbade Adewole to the congregation, when he paid his first episcopal visit to Holy Trinity Anglican Church, the Headquarters of Kulende Archdeaconry, Ilorin.
Bishop Adewole noted that globally, Anglican message for last Sunday service was “The Power in the Blood of Jesus Christ,” which is potent enough to make an atonement for sins as it surpasses the blood of animals as was the practice in the old testament.
The Rt Rev’d Adewole explained that the Christians are getting ready for Good Friday, to commemorate the date Jesus was killed for the salvation of man kind, describing length as the time of mercy, therefore should not be taken with levity.
Adewole who choose his text from Hebrew chapter 9 verses 1 to 14 stressed further that the blood of Jesus is the foundation for mercy, that blood is life and the greatest sacrifice goes with blood, which is why God is interested in man as a result of which Jesus laid down his life for man to live and prayed that the powerful blood of Jesus conceals all the occultic blood covenants in the lives of believers.
While commending Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Kulende, Ilorin, for its remarkable performances in the Diocese of Kwara, both spiritually and in church development, the Bishop however advised the entire congregation to strengthen their spiritual life to develop physically, as it becomes easy to get results.
In his vote of thanks, the Vicar in Charge of the church, Venerable Cornelius Olatunji Amusan, thanked the Diocesan for the visit as well as the spiritual feeding of the church, praying for a his successful tenure of office.
Meanwhile, a Christian Cleric, Pastor Honour Olukorode of Living faith Church , Ajase -Ipo road, Offa Garage, Ilorin, Kwara State has described engaging the law of the spirit of God as key in commanding supernatural breakthrough.
Pastor Olukorode who is the minister- in- charge of the Church also known as Winners Chapel in his sermon today titled “The law of discipline,” admonished Christians to be self disciplined in the pursuit of life.
According to him for Christian to get to the next level, they must embrace the law of discipline by following God’s instructions, continue to grow in the understanding of the word of God and celebrate the faithfulness of God.
