Mandate reorganisation, appointments, not about 2019

The newly appointed Director of Media for Mandate Constituency Office of the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, Abdullahi Oganija has denied claims by the opposition that the current reorganisation was about 2019 election.

According to him, Saraki is only concerned about the welfare of his people and how to better their lot.

Oganija spoke with selected newsmen in his office on Tuesday in Ilorin adding that most of the project has been on for past three to four years.

He said the office cant not put a figure on the list of appointments and employment to emirate and Kwara indigenes because its daily process adding that the figures keeps changing.

He said “we have a lot of people in the federal board and parasitical and we are still expecting more. It’s a continuous exercise and we have not had it so good. Employment is also ongoing and we have 2 each from Ajikobi and Alanamu wards just last week some of them who read engineering.

“This has become daily routing and so we cannot put a figure to the number of those that have employed because figure keeps changing.

On the last local government election, Oganija said the opposition did not make inroad rather because of the relaxation of the ruling party members.

“Our view about the last local government election is different. We should ask what is the percentage of the total vote of the opposition in previous elections and what is the PDP vote in the last election and.

“That is when we can compare notes whether we have lost some grounds or not or there are some cracks.

“When you go by data of the last result, you will see that we have not lost anything but our people just feel relax and confident and did not take the election serious.

“Alanamu for instance used to vote about 12-15 thousands vote compared to the last election where we have four thousands.

Even in Ilorin West. We have had AD councillors before. The problem is not about PDP having strong grounds. We will put the PDP where they belong in the next election. There is no opposition in Kwara and what we are doing now is to bring everybody on board. The appointment, employment, empowerment, the numerous projects and restructuring in the ABS are not about 2019 but about the people and the quest to serve them better.
