Juventus completes €12.2m Szczesny deal from Arsenal: Juventus has completed the signing of goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny from Arsenal for an initial fee of €12.2million. The Poland international has signed a four-year contract with the Serie A champions after undergoing a medical on Tuesday.
The value of Szczesny’s transfer could eventually rise to €15.3m depending on certain conditions being met over the course of his contract.
He joined Arsenal from Legia Warsaw as a youngster and went on to make 181 appearances in all competitions before the arrivals of David Ospina and Petr Cech left him looking elsewhere for first-team opportunities.
Morata closes on €80m Chelsea move: Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata is closing in on an €80 million move to Chelsea, claims Marca. Morata had previously been a target for Manchester United, but the arrival of Romelu Lukaku at Old Trafford, and inability to agree a deal with Madrid, has seemingly seen the Red Devils move on. AC Milan has also shown an interest, but Morata now appears poised to join Premier League champions Chelsea to end manager Antonio Conte’s search for a top-class striker.
Hammers confident on Chicharito: West Ham United is confident of completing a £13 million deal to sign Bayer Leverkusen striker Javier Hernandez, reports Evening Standard. The Hammers are prepared to trigger the release clause in Hernandez’s contract and are also optimistic about agreeing personal terms with the former Manchester United man.
Barkley not demanding £150k a week: Everton midfielder Ross Barkley has not asked to become Tottenham’s best-paid player in order to agree a move to White Hart Lane, according to Liverpool Echo. Reports had claimed that Barkley was demanding £150,000 a week as Spurs consider an approach for the England international, who has a year left on his Everton contract.
Four clubs want Muller: Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller is a target for four leading clubs as rumours continue about his future at the Allianz Arena, claims Sport Bild . Premier League trio Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool, along with Italian champions Juventus, would all be keen to sign Muller, if he is allowed to leave Bayern.
However, coach Carlo Ancelotti has denied speculation that the signing of James Rodriguez means Bayern is ready to sell Muller.
Man Utd scout Brazilian striker: Manchester United is one of several clubs to have been watching Fluminense’s €20 million-rated striker Richarlison, according to Calciomercato. The 20-year-old, who can play up front or on the wing, has also been linked with AC Milan, Roma and Ajax in recent weeks.
Liverpool midfielder set for £8m exit: Liverpool midfielder Kevin Stewart is discussing a move to Hull City after an £8 million fee was agreed. Stewart has made 20 first-team appearances for Liverpool, and has flown home from the club’s pre-season trip to Hong Kong in order to finalise his switch to Championship side Hull.
Madrid won’t replace Morata: Real Madrid won’t sign a replacement for Alvaro Morata, if the Spain international striker leaves during the transfer window, reports AS. AC Milan and Chelsea have been linked with bids for Morata, after Manchester United seemingly ended their pursuit after bringing in Romelu Lukaku from Everton.
Madrid wants Morata to stay for another season, but if their €90 million valuation is met, they won’t move to bring in another striker.
Arsenal to go for Benzema: Arsenal will make a move for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema if they lose Alexis Sanchez. Alexis has consistently been linked with a Gunners exit throughout the summer transfer window, with Arsene Wenger keen on the Real Madrid striker should he lose his star man.
Milan draws closer to Belotti move: Milan’s summer of big spending could be set to continue with the capture of prized striker Andrea Belotti from Torino, according to Gianluci Di Marzio. Torino are demanding €80 million plus M’Baye Niang and Gabriel Paletta from the San Siro club, who feel they can seal the deal with an offer of those two players plus €60m.
West Ham agree Arnautovic deal: West Ham has sealed a £24 million deal with Stoke City to sign forward Marko Arnautovic. The Hammers saw two bids for the 28-year-old Austrian rejected before the Potters accepted the London club’s most recent offer.
Neymar accepts PSG offer: Neymar has apparently agreed a deal to join PSG, according to Esporte Interativo. The Ligue 1 club is seemingly willing to pay the player’s €222 million release clause, in a move that would make him the world’s most expensive player by some distance. The transfer will apparently be officially announced in the next two weeks, with reports having surfaced over the last few days claiming that the player is unsettled at Camp Nou.
Dortmund to keep aubameyang: Borussia Dortmund have decided to keep Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after the striker was linked with a £70 million move to Chelsea. Chelsea was reportedly keen to sign Aubameyang after missing out on Romelu Lukaku, while AC Milan and clubs in China were also linked with a bid.
However, unless an offer of €100 million is received, Dortmund will not let Aubameyang leave during the transfer window.
No Van Dijk transfer request: Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk has not handed in a transfer request in an attempt to force a move to Liverpool. Reports had claimed that Van Dijk had spoken to Southampton in a bid to secure a summer transfer, with Liverpool his preferred destination.
But Southampton remains determined to hold on to the Dutch centre-half, who has also been linked with the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City.
Chelsea won’t meet £30.8m Danilo fee: Chelsea is refusing to meet Real Madrid’s €30.8 million asking price to sign Brazilian right-back Danilo. And the Premier League champions could now face competition for Danilo from Manchester City, who want to sign another right-back following their £45m capture of Kyle Walker.
Liverpool in £10m Robertson talks: Andrew Robertson has flown home from Hull City’s pre-season tour in Portugal to discuss a £10 million move to Liverpool. Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is looking to sign a new left back and talks are reportedly ongoing with Hull over a potential deal for Robertson.
Vidal rejects Juve move: Barcelona full-back Aleix Vidal has rejected the opportunity to join Juventus as a replacement for Dani Alves, reports Sport . Vidal was initially signed by Barcelona to be a long-term successor to Alves, and he is now wanted by Juve following the Brazilian’s departure for Paris Saint-Germain.
Wilshere bid rejected: Arsenal has turned down a bid of £6.2 million from Serie A side Sampdoria for Jack Wilshere. The Gunners are said to be holding out for £8.8m before sanctioning a sale of the England international midfielder.
