Christians tasked on civic responsibility

Christians have again been called upon to live up to their civic and national responsibility as taught by Jesus Christ.

In his message at the Conference of Church Leaders and Minister’s fellowship of Nigeria held at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, Sabo-Oke, Ilorin,  Segun Olaniyi, called on Christians to be law abiding and follow the example laid by Jesus Christ.

Olaniyi urged them to continue to pray for peace and progress of the state and the nation.

Also in her message, Reverend Helen Ebun Oluwakorode implored  Christians to participate in all political activities especially the registration of voters card currently going on.

Speaking on the topic; “the power of the Spiritual Songs”Reverend Samuel Love Adebiyi of ECWA Chapel, explained that there is power in gospel songs to transform the people’s heart and the society.

Reverend Adebiyi noted that Christian hymn inspires, saves, heals and delivers hence the premium placed on its use in the church worship.

The cleric stated that there would be positive change if Nigerian leaders appropriate the gospel message in their hearts and the affairs of governance.

Similarly, Pastor Ola-Olu Adeyemo in his sermon titled “the Grace” delivered at the combined choir service of the Cherubim and Seraphim Unification held at its headquarters, Murtala road, Ilorin noted that grace led to expansion, assist faith to grow, bring salvation, safe life and give victory over sin among others.

Pastor Adeyemo called on Christians to have strong faith in the Lord for grace to work in their favour at all times.

In his message themed “The Church of God in ungodly generation” delivered at Second ECWA, Shao, Reverend Jacob Olalekan Olukayode? stressed that the Church of God is expected to be blameless, and pure while the Children of God should shine as light and disseminate the gospel relentlessly.

Reverend Olukayode charged the Church to combat ungodliness by fulfilling God mandates and lived to His expectation.
