NSE clears air on Fidson Healthcare merging speculation
The Nigeria Stock Exchange has cleared the air on speculation that Fidson Healthcare PLC is negotiating with a competitor company, May and Baker Nigeria PLC to merge.
The NSE stated that Fidson has not directly or indirectly nor through any financial consultant in any form of discussion, negotiation or consultation whatsoever that may lead to acquisition or a merger of the two undertakings.
“The information going round is baseless, speculative and unrelated and in no way connected with the decisions of the Board of Directors and management of the company.”
The company Secretary, J.A Adebanjo advised the entire public and capital market in particular to ignore the speculative publication.
Meanwhile, May and Baker PLC has denounced any arrangement of acquiring or merging with the aforementioned company.
It stated clearly that there is no iota of truth in the said publication as there is no negotiations going on with Fidson.
It added that the board of Baker is strategically positioning the company to be the leading Healthcare brand not just in Nigeria but beyond.
