‘Rejoice in all situations’

The Minister-in-charge of Calvary Baptist Church, Ilorin, Reverend Francis Oladipo has enjoined Christians to rejoice always even in the face of adversity.
The clergyman gave the admonition yesterday as he advised the body of Christ not to give in to the antics of the devil, aimed at making them sorrowful.
According to him, “God has told us to count it all joy even when we fall into diverse temptations, feeling dejected, downcast, discouraged, which are contrary to dictate and the way God operates, even when it’s hard, He wants us to be singing praises.”
He also premised his sermon on the book of 1 Thessalonians Chapter 18 verse 3, saying, “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”
He added that whoever follows God’s Word would be comforted, saying, “Such a person will be seeing new hope and glorious future. You can be sure the spirit of God will always energise and renew strength of those whose hope are solely in God.”
Giving example of the three Hebrew in the Bible, he said difficulty should not deter them from worshipping God.
“They insisted against all odds not to bow or worship the god of Nebucadenezzar, even when they were thrown into the funance of fire, they were praising God, the Son of man joined them and they became four in the fire. To the amazement of many, they were not burnt, nor consumed, the fire became a cool breeze. This is the result of those that trust God, trust Him and you will never be put to shame,” he said.
