Cleric tasks Christians on hardwork
By Daniel Ayantoye
The Presiding Pastor of Potters Porch international Churches, John Aboyeji has tasked Christians on the need to be diligent in all their endeavours, stressing that hard work is required to excel in life.
The cleric, who gave the charge while speaking in an interview with National Pilot during the 12th Annual Convention of the church yesterday, noted that while being a Christian is the primary key to sustaining a purposeful life, hard work is required in order not to live a life of penury.
“You are a Christian, to God be the glory but if you are lazy you will suffer and God can’t help you out with laziness. So what is expected of you, do it and let God do His own part,” he added
He, however, urged young pastors to be patient and imbibe the spirit of humility and hardwork so as to effectively do exploits for God.
Speaking on the convention, Pastor Aboyeji disclosed that essence of the convention is to show appreciation to God for the growth of the ministry after 12 years of its establishment.
Earlier in his sermon themed ‘Go Forward,’ the cleric who said it is the plan and purpose of God for Christians to go forward, stressed that some people are not progressing because of their inability to appreciate God.
“Christian must learn how to appreciate God, the more you appreciate Him, the more He answers your requests. Our God is always faithful, what we need to do is to always appreciate Him,” he emphasised.
Similarly, wife of the cleric, Pastor Mrs. Aboyeji Seyi, noted that the grace of God through prayers, hard work, and good believers had kept the church throughout the years.
She however enjoined pastors’ wives to be prayerful and always be guided by the scripture in order to make their ministries a success.
