Governor Wike sacks all his special advisers

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has relieved all his Special Advisers of their appointments.

A statement by Special Assistant to the Rivers State Governor on Electronic Media, Simeon Nwakaudu, however, noted that the Special Adviser on Religious Affairs, Bishop Winston Iwo, retained his post.

Recall that the governor sacked all his commissioners on July 24 and he is yet to reconstitute a new cabinet.

With the sacking of all the Special Advisers, the governor can best be said to be running the executive arm of government with purely career civil servants without partisan politicians, at least until he appoints new ones.
