Ex-NAWOJ Dep. president gives daughter out in Marriage

The Chief Imam, University of Ilorin Central Mosque, Prof. Abdulganiyu Oladosu has advised Muslim couples to be faithful to each other and make Allah foundation of their marriage.
Professor Oladosu stated this at the Nikkah ceremony of Miss Lateefah Olabisi Oladimeji, daughter of the former Deputy President, National Association of Women Journalists, NAWAOJ, Hajia Balqees Oladimeji and Alhaji Abdullateef Oladimeji held at the premises of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin at the weekend.
The Islamic cleric while solemnizing the union of Lateefah and her heartthrob, Abdul-hakeem, admonished the couple to remain steadfast in prayers, faithful to each other and ensure they lay the foundation of their marriage on the fear of Allah.
Similarly, the Chief Imam of Al-Hikmah University, Dr. Kalmaldeen Mubarak Ali enjoined the couple to tolerate each other, saying that any marriage without tolerance will not stand the test of time.
In his sermon, an Islamic cleric who is also a senior lecturer of Al-Hikmah University, Dr. Yusuf Kolawole Jumuah, who described marriage as an essential act for completion of the Islamic faith, urged the couple to exhibit love and tolerance in their daily interactions.
While explaining individual roles in marriage, the cleric stated that the husband should endeavour to play his role by providing for his family while the wife is expected to be honest and obedient to her husband at all times.
Meanwhile some of the guests who spoke in separate interviews with National Pilot at the event prayed that Allah grant the couple a blissful marital life.
A legal luminary, Mallam Yusuf Olaolu Ali (SAN) said “Alhamdulillah, it is always in our prayers that our children celebrate good things in our lifetime.
“I congratulate the Oladimejis for the landmark achievement and that Allah has made it possible for them to witness this day and I pray that Allah bless the marriage and as well spare our lives to witness the weddings of all other children and the children of our other friends”.
The Olomu of Omupo, Oba Yakub Adebayo Buhari who spoke at the event described the wedding ceremony as a great achievement and prayed God Almighty to continue to bless and uphold the home. of the new couple.
Meanwhile parents of the newly wedded couple described the ceremony as a historic moment in their lives and prayed Allah bless the marriage with children, love and prosperity.
The couple, while speaking separately with this medium expressed joy over the success of the ceremony and thanked all who graced the occasion.
