Super Falcons and FC Minsk defender, Onome Ebi is rooting for former side, Bayelsa Queens to win the 2017 Nigeria Women Premier League (NWPL) Super Four championship.
The annual championship is due to hold from September 11 – 16 in Benin City, Edo state among the quartet, Bayelsa Queens, Rivers Angels, Delta Queens and Nasarawa Amazons.
Onome who is among the dignitaries that graced the NWPL Super Four draw in Lagos on Wednesday said the Yenagoa landladies have the qualities to be crowned the Nigerian champions at the end of the prime championship.
“Right from day one I believe strongly in Bayelsa Queens, their coaches are first class and the players are excellent.
“I’m not playing in Bayelsa Queens at the moment other teams should look out for them when hostilities start at the Super Four as they are the team to beat.
“Bayelsa Queens will be a difficult team to play with and I believe in them to go all the way to win the championship.
“Although, football is not mathematics they have the qualities to be crowned champions at the end of the day.
“I will just remind them that there is no second chance neither should they underrate their opponents but cash in on every chance to make the needed impact,” said the Nigerian international strongwoman to supersport.com.
Onome said the four teams that made it to the NWPL Super Four are unarguably the best in the land.
