Kwese Conf Six: Kwara Falcons in double win

 

Kwara falcons recorded another victory in the ongoing Kwese premier basketball league conference six hold in Ilorin after edging Oluyole warriors by 77-67 points on Tuesday afternoon.

Falcons were led by the trio of David Godwin, Mojubaoluwa Oyeleye and Gods power Ossai, who scored 15 points each in the keenly contested game.

Oluyole warriors had the spark of Sunday Aribiyun and Suleiman Owolabi who had 15 and 13 points respectively.

It took a while before falcons were able to settle in the opening quarter.

Godspwer Ossai delivered a pair of three pointers while Oyeleye added 4 point in a 10-2 run which put falcons in control as it ended 24-17.The Ilorin side added a further 17 points in the second quarter while Oluyole could only managed 15 going into the end of the first half. (41-32)

Oluyole warriors reduced the point difference in the third quarter after an 8-0 run which saw the score at 50-49 but a pair of jump shot by Falcons in the last 30 seconds ensured they has the advantage going in to the last quarter with 54-49.

Despite having trouble, Falcons maintained a significant cushion and possession during the third quarter, as the Coach Aderemi Adewunmi tutored side showed high intensity to make 27 points as it finished 77-67.

Kwara falcons coach was excited his team were able to made it two wins from two games.

“We won again but not the same score margin like yesterday. In basketball, you can’t always get to the 100points mark in every game”.

“The last time we played them, they defeated us twice in Ibadan during the regular season”: Owolo said.
