Pastor loses N1m, car to robbers in Ilorin

A Pastor, Samuel Falade of John Ayelode Street Tanke area of Ilorin, Kwara State capital was penultimately Thursday allegedly attacked by a four-man gang at his residence.

The armed robbers were said to have inflicted injury on their victim, whom they hit with butt of their guns during the operation.

It was gathered that the robbery gang made away with a Toyota Sienna with registration number LND 883 BF, one plasma TV, one Samsung prime phone and a cash sum of one million naira

Pilot crime further gathered that the case was reported at the ‘F’ Division Police Station, which led to investigation by officers of the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department.

A police source however divulged to our reporter that two suspects, Ibraheem Ahmed of Okoki compound, Agbaji and Wasiu Rasheed of Ita-Adu, Okelele area in Ilorin, were arrested in connection with the crime.

The source explained that the Pastor’s stolen mobile phone was traced to one Bashir Idowu, which led to the arrest of Abdulateef Hannofi and AbdulRasheed Babatunde, who sold the item to him. The arrests, it was learnt led to nabbing of two principal suspects.

“The suspects Ahmed, a civil servants and Rasheed a phone repairer are now cooling their feet in police custody and have confessed to the crime that they conspired to robbed the victims of the valuable items.

“They are helping the police in the investigation to arrest the other suspects who are at large,” the source added.

When contacted the state Police Public Relations Officers DSP Ajayi Okasanmi said, he was yet to be informed.

He added that since two suspects has been arrested I connection with the crime, the matter should be under investigation.

“I will get the full detail on the incident on Monday and get back to your,” he added.
