Gov Ahmed condoles former APC Nat’l chairman on wife’s death

The Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed on Saturday paid a condolence visit to the former interim chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Bisi Akande over the death of his wife, Mrs. Omowunmi.

Governor Ahmed who led some members of the State Executive Council to Akande’s country home in Ila-Oragun, Osun State said losing wife of 50years is heartbreaking and asked Chief Akande to have faith in God as life is transient.

Ahmed described Mrs Akande as icon of consolidation of positive progressive forces in Nigeria, adding that she lived a life worthy of emulation while also urging the family to sustain the good values she lived for.

Governor Ahmed prayed God to grant her eternal life and the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Responding on behalf of the family, Mrs. Bolaji Akintola thanked Governor Ahmed for the visit and for standing by the family doing the trying period.

Akintola promised to promote and sustain the good values their mother represented while on earth.

Mrs. Omowunmi Akande died last Tuesday, at the age of 73.
