Final Clearance: Corps member dies in accident on her way to Anambra
A member of the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC), Jenyo Ojo, died in a fatal auto crash on her way to Anambra State for her monthly clearance on Monday.
Ojo graduated from Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba, Ondo State and had only one month to go before completing her compulsory national service.
Distraught friends had since taken to Facebook to mourn the corps member.
Chidimma Chilaka wrote: “This world is not our own if it’s a dream, I want to wake up.
The best Yoruba girl I ever met, we sleep together, eat together, cook together and did everything together in the past few months.
“We travelled together on Thursday Jenyo Ojo I am in tears… death why did you caught us unaware?
“Baby girl I love you so much, rest in peace, till we meet to part no more.”
For another Facebook user, Muslim Adewale, the deceased was a lively girl.
“Jenyo Ojo, I will surely miss your lovely smile and your distinguished attitude. You were such a lively and fun-to-be-with girl. May the Lord be with your mum and others you leave behind”
On her part, Adesokan Rhoda Adebimpe wrote: “I haven’t recovered from this shock, I saw you last week and during CDS, you were looking for me to collect my jungle boot, we chat on Whatsapp on Sunday and all of a sudden I saw it on group chat last night, we couldn’t believe.
“Kemi had to call your number, it rang and Rita confirmed it that the news was real, my darling Jenyo Ojo, can this be for real? Today is our last clearance before the final clearance… you are no more just to make me and Kemi laugh, you are no more for us to give you space to line up for clearance, someone should just call me and tell me and tell me it’s lie…a month to pass out of service.”
