Baseball to feature in 2018 NYG – Dalung

The fourth edition of the National Youth Games billed for 2018 will feature the game of baseball, Minister of Youth and Sports, Barrister Solomon Dalung has said.
He gave the assurance at the ongoing 3rd edition if the games taking place at the University of Ilorin, Kwara State.
Dalung commended the Baseball and Softball Federation for its commitment in developing the game.
The Minister who was speaking at a demonstration event staged by the Nigeria Canoe, Sailing Federation also assured of government’s commitment in all round sports development.
Fielding questions from newsmen after the Minister announced the introduction of baseball and softball to the NYG, Vice President of the Federation, Dr. Felicia Kisira said that the development would further develop the game
Dr. Kisira, who is also the wife of the Deputy Governor of Kwara State said that the introduction was a welcome development.
“I am so happy about the decision to include baseball and softball in the National Youth Games, it is what I have been waiting for,” she added.
