A middle aged man, Mohammed Sanni has been arrested for abducting two children from their home in Paro village, Bode- Saadu, Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State.
Pilot Crime learnt that the suspected kidnapper lured the children, Saadu Baba and Isiaku Musa both aged three, from their compound and escaped with them.
It was further learnt that the suspect and another person who is at large, had planned to use the children for money rituals.
Speaking on the development, a police source said, “A resident of the community who recognised the children raised the alarm, which led to the arrest of the suspect by members of the community. The incident was however, reported by one Ibrahim Damina.
“The matter was initially reported at the Bode – Saadu Divisional Police station before it was transferred to the state Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department of the police headquarters for investigation
According to the police source, the suspect confessed to the crime, adding that he connived with his friend who is at large to use the children for money rituals. ”
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ajayi Okasanmi said he was yet to be informed on the matter.
