The Kwara State Police Command on Monday nabbed five suspects for attempting to kidnap one Ajao Sheu of Ile Alagbede, Kuntu area of Ilorin, while defecating inside an uncompleted building.
It was gathered that the victim had attended a marriage ceremony in the area and when pressed decided to look for let off the waste in his body before the kidnap attempt. According to the father of the victim, Sheu Ajeje, heard the voice of his child screaming and everyone rushed to the area only to discover the five suspects bolting away.
He added that the suspected kidnappers were accommodated by one Rasak Olasile and had been in the area for long hoping to carry out their nefarious act on innocent members of the public.
“They ran to the landlord’s house for cover and his wife, Bola Olasile told them to run away. But just as they attempted to escape with their car, the people mobbed them.”
The victim’s father stated further that, the suspects stormed the area in a tinted Golf car with the sticker of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
It was gathered that the policemen from Adewole Division rescued the suspects from being lynched by the angry mob following a tip off by some members of the community.
Meanwhile, the suspects are currently undergoing investigations at the Adewole Police Station.
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ajayi Okasanmi confirmed the incident adding that he is yet to be fully briefed.
