Emir cautions community leaders against land sales in Ilorin

 

The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji lbrahim Sulu-Gambari has cautioned community leaders in the emirate against the habit of selling land in their domains for personal gains.

The royal father gave the warning at his palace on Friday, during the turbanning of Alhaji Kayode Sidiq as the Alangua of Owode Oja in Asa Local Government Area of Kwara.

He said that valuable lands in their domains that could be used for the development of agriculture and other developmental purposes must not be sold.

The monarch tasked community leaders to follow the good legacy of their forefathers by allowing peace and unity to always reign in their domains for more development to be achieved.

Sulu-Gambari said that no meaningful development could be attained in an atmosphere of chaos and acrimony.

The royal father prayed for a peaceful reign of the new Alangua and for peace, love and unity in Kwara.

The new Alangua who is a retired director from the state service pledged to be the custodian of peace and progress in his domain.
