Muslims urged on spiritual growth

By Ahnmed Ajikobi

The Imam of Agaka Mosque, Asa Dam road, Ilorin, Kwara State,  Ustaz Yusuf Olopoewa has advised Muslim faithful to prepare themselves for the hereafter.

The cleric urged Muslims to strive for spiritual growth and live their life entirely for God.

He said they can prepare for heaven by increasing their good deeds to fellow humans and fear Allah in all of their endeavours.

He gave the advise during his sermon at  the Jumaat service on Friday.

Olopoewa further urged Islam adherents to always seek for forgiveness over sins committed, charging them to imbibe the habit of keeping note of their day-to-day activities.

“Prepare note for your daily activities because of death. If you owe someone money indicate in your note before you sleep because death can come at anytime.”

“Muslims should seek for forgiveness. Don’t let the fun of this world take you over. Some Muslims celebrate their birthday not knowing that as you are adding a year to your age, your time in life is decreasing. So why celebrating instead of you to think of the bad deeds you have done in the past and begin to seek for Allah’s forgiveness”

Olopoewa also advised Muslims to observe their five compulsory prayers at the right time, recite the holy Qur’an and do solatul for Prophet Muhammad.
