Kwara Police arrests man for murder

Men of the Kwara State Police Command have atrested a man, Solihu Muhammad Sanni for allegedly killing one Adamu Muhammed, last Tuesday.

Pilot Crime gathered that the incident occurred at Ajasse-Ipo in Irepodun Local Government Area of the state following a brawl between the duo on the fateful day.

Sanni was said to have smashed the head of the deceased with a big stick during a fight, smashed which consequently made him to lose consciousness.

It was further gathered that passersby had rushed Adamu to a private hospital in the area, where he eventually gave up the ghost despite efforts by the medical personnel at saving his life.

Our reporter learnt that the case was reported at the Ajasse-Ipo divisional police station by one Muhammad Suwa of Amberi village, which led to the arrest of the suspect while trying to flee from scene of the crime.

According to a police source, the case was later transferred to State Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department of police headquarters for discreet investigation into the matter.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ajayi Okasanmi confirmed the incident when contacted, adding that the case is being investigated.

“The suspect, Soliu Muhammad Sanni hit Adamu Muhammad with a big stick, which led to his death,” he added.

“The case is undergoing investigation and the suspect will be charged to court after interrogation,” he added.
